Chastised, I Will Write. - Live Music Again

Today I was reminded that 13 months had passed since I had enjoyed the live performance of music.
Part of our vaccinated posse, Gwen and Jerry, Thomas and Delores, Boo and I enjoying our first live music in 13 months. Thank God for a perfect afternoon and thank you Clark Knighten, Black Cat Productions, the 4x4 Connection Band and St. Joseph The Worker Parish for making this possible. I almost cried, I missed this so much.

Because so many of us were masked up as we moved around it was hard to recognize people by their faces. But other recognition kicked in, someone's walk made us know them, some people's styles are so signature. Just enjoyed being together enjoying this blessing of New Orleans musicians.

Violinist Michael Ward decided to do a Michael Jackson medley. One song, which none of the band had played for several years, was discussed for a minute and then they played it, really played it. That is the essence of New Orleans music, this capacity for weaving magnificent music together... by hearing one another. Could that we work so as government.

On my way out of the show, I was reminded that what I write matters to some people, and then I was then chastised for not having written for such a long time. I'm back. I will write.
