A Man Who Inspires People

COVID-19, Will Humanity Embrace Wiser Ways?

Will humanity embrace wiser ways?

Because of this global shutdown, we humans are learning to give up the primitive greetings and indiscriminate physical contact that make us suckers for viruses. Covid19, Influenza and all those nasty little bugs depend on our disregard for interpersonal hygiene. From our experience with the flu, we know that they will mutate, so a vaccine for Covid19, may have no effect on the next of the Corona virus, possibly a Covid20, next year, or perhapa a Covid 21 or 22... or whatever they call it.

So, it turns out that we humans are not the top predators on earth, as we arrogantly like to think. Viruses, bacteria and fungi are the top feeders, and we created a microbe "Garden of Eden" with our primitive physical greetings and intercontinental mobility with people in close contact... without quarantine... and schools which put more resistant carriers in intimate (social) contact and send them home everyday.

I predict that even if the "curve" flattens over the summer, if kids go back to the same style of classrooms, moving through hallways together, and playing together (that bully governed socialization we mistakenly believe is good for them), we will have to go through all this again.

I've become vocal about my social distance. A dude went to reach pass me at Costco to get an item off the shelf and I went off loudly, "Are you out of your mind?" As all the eyes on the aisle turned toward us he backed off and hopefully will be more conscious of such social embarrassments in the future.

If you don't live with me,
don't touch me,
